My Nail Art: My Totoro Nails

Hi Hi! 😀

I have always heard about Totoro but have never seen the film or anything so I decided to discover it 😀

My Neighbour Totoro is the name of the film and it was made in 1988 the year I was born 😀 It’s a sweet little Japanese anime story with a lot of randomness in it. I was inspired by Totoro’s creepy but cute smiling face for a nail art :D:D

What you need:

Top coat

Base coat

Grey nail polish

White nail polish

Black nail polish

Dotting tool/striper/toothpick/nail art pen

 

First up apply your basecoat. I used two coats of Barry M Basecoat, Topcoat and Nail Hardener.

Wait to dry!

Next up use a grey coloured nail polish. I used MUA Bullet.

Wait to dry!

Now for the detail stuff. Use a white nail polish and a large dotting tool create the eyes. I used the white nail polish from Sweet Ideas Bunny Nails Dalmatian Bunny. I also used the same white using the brush it came with (it is kind of like a striper) to make the mouth. What you need to do is make the ends of the mouth thinner, then the middle bit to make the very weird smile Totoro has.

Wait to dry!

Next use a black nail polish and the smallest dotting tool or a nail art pen you have to make the dots for eyes, the  nose, the teeth and the whiskers. I used Maybelline Color Show Designer Nail Art pen.

Wait to dry!

Apply your top coat and you are done 😀
