My Nail Art! : Shimmery Hot Dogs

shimmery hotdogs nailsHi Hi! 😀

I have never had a hot dog but that’s probably because I don’t eat sausage but that doesn’t mean I can’t have them on my nails so here we go 😀

What you need:

Base coat

Top coat

Beige colour nail polish (shimmer/glitter)

Brown colour nail polish(shimmer/glitter)

Red colour nail polish

Yellow colour nail polish

Black colour nail polish

Dotting tool/nail art pen/ toothpick

First step is the base coat. I used to two coats of Barry M’s Base coat, Top coat and Nail Hardener.

Wait to dry!

Next using you beige-y brown colour nail polish apply one coat. I used Collection 2000 Maxi Flex Bronzed. This is going to be your hot dog bun.

Next for your hot dog using a brown nail polish make a slightly curved sausage shape in the middle of your nail from the cuticle to the tip of your nail. I used Ruby Wing’s Cupcakes and Champagne Cinnamon Buns. Two coats! (I really need to invest in a nice brown nail polish ;0P).

Wait to dry!

Mustard and Tomato ketchup. You will need a small dotting tool and your red and yellow nail polish. All you need to do is start from the top and make a wavey line down your hot dog. As you can see in the pic I alternated the side each “sauce” was on each nail. I used Collection Work the Colour Lady in Red and Rimmel 60secs Chin up Buttercup.

I noticed everything was blending in a bit so to make my sausage pop I used a black nail polish and a dotting tool to outline my hot dog. I used Rimmel 60secs Black out.

Lastly apply your top coat and you are done!! 😀

Now for the chicks. Using a small dotting tool and yellow nail polish make two dots close together, one slightly below and to the right of the first to make the body. White nail polish

Striper/dotting tool/ nail art pen

What to do:

First step is to apply a base coat. I used two coats of Barry M Basecoat Top coat and Nail Hardener.

Wait to dry!

Apply your base colour which is the black nail polish. I used a coat of Rimmel 60secs Super Shine Black out.

Wait to dry!

Now for the hearts using a white nail polish with  a dotting tool or striper. I used Etude House Sweet Idea Bunny nails Dalmatian Bunny- white nail polish. What you need to do is imagine a heart that you are trying to fill with angled lines. I chose to free hand it but to make it easier you can use a cut out shaped heart using tape to fill in. I tried to fit in four or five lines angled to the right. I have two shorter lines on the left and three longer lines on the right (see pic if you are confused)

Last step is the top coat and you are done, a slightly different kind of Valentines manicure but its still pretty cute 😀

Happy Valentines Day! :D:D May you and your Loved ones enjoy this special day 😀

Furry Princess’s 4th Birthday!

Hi Hi! 😀

It’s my Furry Princess’s First Birthday and in honour of her birthday I am putting up the manicure from a couple years back 😀

Furry Princess nailsHey Hey!!

In honour of my furry princess’s birthday I decided to dedicate a nail art tutorial post just for her 😀

What you need:

Top coat Base coat
Grey nail polish
White nail polish
Brown nail polish
Black nail polish/striper/nail art pen
Dotting tools

First things first, put your basecoat to protect the nail. I’m using Barry M Base coat Top coat and Nail Hardener.

Wait to dry!

Now for the colour of my furry princess. Get your grey nail polish and paint two coats. I am using Make Up Academy in the colour Bullet.

More waiting!

Next get out your black nail polish. I am using a nail art pen, to see the review click on the link  https://theheartofnails.wordpress.com/2014/11/18/nail-art-pen-review/

You need to make my Furry Princess’s ears. She has big floppy ears so just left or right of the middle of the nail(depending on whether you are doing her left ear or right ear first) start off making a curved line towards the edge of the nail then draw a straight line down the edge like I have in the picture. Do for both ears.

Now for her big brown eyes!! Using the biggest dotting tool I have I got my white nail polish and brown nail polish ready. I am using Collection French Manicure French White and a brown colour from a collection of 7 nail polishes called Flawless Nails. Make big white dots for her eyes and while you are waiting you can make her nose. I think she has quite a big nose so do a big black upside down triangle shape with your black nail polish.

Hopefully the whites of her eyes are now dry so you can make her a little more friendly by using the brown nail polish. Using a slightly smaller dotting tool do a couple of dots on the whites of her eyes.

Wait to dry!! Now apply the last part to the eyes, the pupils. Just make black dots and your done. Apply the top coat to make it more shiny and Ta DA!!! Furry Princess Nails are now completed. 😀

Also to make the manicure more interesting play around a bit more with the design like I have. Some nails I have just the ears and the eyes, some have the ears, eyes and nose and the thumb nail has the ears, eyes, nose and the outline of her face.

Topcoat

Black colour nail polish

White colour nail polish

Blue colour nail polish

Grey/silver colour nail polish

Yellow colour nail polish

Next starting with the thumb make the bowl of porridge. Start with your white nail polish and paint from your cuticle to half way up your nail, I used Color Club On Cloud Nine (2coats). While that dries make the spoon coming out of the bowl. I used a dotting tool and some grey nail polish from a collection of nail polish called Lumiere. Using a blue nail polish paint a stripe across the middle of the bowl to finish it off. I used Hello Kitty OPI My Pal Joey. Lastly outline the bowl with a black nail polish. I used a nail art pen then went over it with a dotting tool and Rimmel 60secs Black out nail polish. You can also outline the blue stripe if you wish.

For the Goldilocks nail (pointer finger)start of with a peach/ beige colour and paint in the middle of your nail just a little over halfway.  I used a peach colour from a collection of nail polish called Lumiere. While that is drying make the “Gold” locks with a yellow nail polish. I used a large dotting tool and Rimmel 60 secs Chin up Buttercup and a circling motion to try and make it look curly. For the face I used a white nail polish and a large dotting tool for the whites of the eyes, blue nail polish for the eyes, black for the pupils and a small dotting tool for the eye lashes. I also added a pink smile of a mouth using small dotting tool and Selena Gomez’s Nicole by OPI Naturally. Lastly I added a little black bow for the top of her head.

Papa bear nail (middle finger)I used two brownish nail polishes. I started off with Collection 2000 Maxiflex Bronzed and made the shape of a bear head using a large dotting tool. I also made this shape on my ring finger and pinkie while waiting for it to dry. I then used Cupcakes and Champagne Ruby Wing Colour changing nail polish Cinnamon Buns on top. For the ears I used a pink nail polish and a large dotting tool and placed a dot on the inside of the ears. The eyes I used white and a large dotting tool, the green (Etude House Handmade Jam Green tea) for the eyes and black for the pupils and nose. I added a black bow tie for papa bear, a red ear bow for mama bear (Etude House Berry Delicious Strawberry Soufflé Strawberry Jam) and a blue dummy for baby bear.

My Nail Art: Diwali 2016

Hi Hi! 😀

Surprise second nail art! Diwali is also coming up 😀

For Diwali I came up with a slightly unusual manicure but It kind of works. Only problem is that all the fingers except the thumb is upside down :0( But it kind of looks like a cool manicure for Autumn. Flaming leaves :0p The second picture is so you can see what it looks like right way up (I done it again on the day). The flame tips are meant to be closest to the cuticle though but either way I like it 😀

What you need:dsc_7047

Base coat

Top coat

Red nail polish

Orange nail polish

Yellow nail polishdsc_7049

Black nail polish

Glitter nail polish

First step is the base coat. applied two coats of Barry M’s Basecoat, Top coat and Nail hardener.

Wait to dry!

Paint all nails using an orange nail polish. I applied Rita Ora’s Rimmel Tangerine Tent. I only needed one coat.

Wait to dry!

Next using your yellow nail polish make the shape of a flame. It does not need to be perfect as I used the brush it came with. I used Rimmel’s 60secs Chin up Buttercup. Then using a red nail polish paint inside the yellow. I found just going in while its not dry gives it an interesting effect. I used Collection Work the Colour Lady in red.

Using your glitter nail polish paint over the orange parts. You can paint your glitter straight after the orange if you like but it will make the flame glittery so I just not to. I used Selena Gomez’s Nicole by OPI Inner Sparkle.

Now using a small dotting tool and your black nail polish make the wick. Just a straight line from the middle of the flame and go down. I have also decided to outline the flame too to make it pop 😀 I used Rimmel’s 60secs Black Out.

Apply you top coat and you are done! 😀

Happy Diwali to all that celebrate and a Happy New year Too X x x Rexina
